0305_malcorra_g.jpg_1508290738On thursday April 7, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Argentina, Susana Malcorra, received a delegation of the Armenian community of Argentina,  form by Archbishop Kissag Mouradian, Primate of the Armenian Apostolic Church for Argentina and Chile ; Alberto Djeredjian, president of the Armenian Center of Argentina, and Ohanes Bogiatzian, president of the Argentine-Armenia Chamber for Industry and Commerce. They  communicated Malcorra  the concern of the Armenian community about the recent escalation in the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh Artsakh, due to large scale attacks launched by Azerbaijan indiscriminately not only against Armenian military positions but also on the civilian population, making a new ceasefire violation.

They also talked about the presence of members of the terrorist group ISIS in the Azeri forces.

The members of the Armenian community informed Malcorra that Karabakh maintains its territorial limits, but Azeri attacks on civilians continue. “The attacks were initiated by Azerbaijan, as this armed conflict does not suit the people of Karabagh, whose civilian population is directly in the conflict zone”, said Djeredjian during the meeting, rejecting the Azeri version.

The visitors noted the statement of the General Secretary of the Organization of American States condemning the aggression and demanding respect for the truce.

Malcorra shared the concern about the escalation of this conflict and she will work actively for the cessation of military actions, holding talks with the Argentine representative in the United Nations Organization and the Ambassador of Argentina in Armenia.

At the end of the hearing, both sides agreed in their desire for peace in the region and the Armenian delegation thanked the reception.
