“Uruguay was the first country to recognize the Armenian genocide by law 50 years ago, a transcendent step in a struggle that continues until today,” said Uruguayan Foreign Minister Rodolfo Nin Novoa, who announced that the country will send an official delegation to Armenia centennial activities to be held on April 24.

He also stressed the importance of bilateral relations between the two countries with agreements in different areas.

“This seal is full of meaning and emotion because it honors the memory of all the victims of the brutal crime of genocide we abhor and condemn” he said.
