Prosecutor ­Moreno Ocampo received at the Armenian Center

IMG_5210[1]The jurist Luis Moreno Ocampo, known for his work as prosecutor during the trial of the last military dictatorship in Argentina and for being the first Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court in The Hague, where he served from 2003 to 2012, yesterday visited the Armenian Center of Argentina in order to know more about the Armenian community.

He was received by Archbishop Kissag Mouradian, Primate of the Armenian Apostolic Church for Argentina and Chile, and Dr. Alberto Djeredjian, president of the Armenian Center of Argentina, who accompanied him to the Cathedral of Saint Gregory the Illuminator explaining its history and importance as a place of congregation of the Armenian community, especially for the first generations of Armenian immigrants who arrived fleeing the barbarism of genocide and built the temple with great sacrifice.

IMG_5217Then they had lunch in the hall of the Archbishopric, where they continued talking about Armenia and the Armenian community in Argentina with other diners.

Moreno Ocampo will participate of the world congress of journalists for the centennial of the Armenian Genocide to be held this month in Yerevan, capital of Armenia.
