On Friday July 31, the Latin American Parliament passed a resolution recognizing the Armenian Genocide.
In the recognition played a major role the Ecuadorian delegation, primarily the deputy Maria Augusta Calle; Senator of Argentina Liliana Fellner, Uruguayan Parliament deputy Alfredo Asti; Deputy of the Plurinational State of Bolivia Edgar Mejía Aguilar and the President of the Latin American Parliament, Mexican Senator Blanca Alcalá.
Carlos Manoukian, member of the Armenian Center of Argentina, and the sociologist Mehmet Dogan,traveled to Panama, where the headquarters of the Latin American Parliament works, to witness the historic recognition.
