Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has offered condolences over the demise of Armenian patriarch of Constantinople, Archbishop Mesrop Mutafyan.
“I was with great sorrow that I learnt of the death of the respectful Mesrob Mutafyan teh Armenian patriarch of Turkey,” Erdogan said in a Twitter post.
“On this occasion I offer condolences to his family, relatives and our Armenian citizens,” Erdogan wrote in Western Armenian.
