Chinese New Year celebration with Armenian presence

The last weekend a huge crowd gathered at Barrancas de Belgrano, Buenos Aires, to celebrate the beginning of the Chinese year 4712, year of the Wood Goat, in a colorful ambient with artistic events, gastronomy, exhibitions, workshops and fireworks show. Folkloric Armenian Dance Ensemble  “Masis”,participated of the celebration, while the Director of Institutional Relations of the Armenian Center of Argentina and president of the Argentina Federation of Communities, Juan Sarrafian, was part of the official ceremony.10991574_10153069748133684_8247363185604258703_o

The event began on Saturday at noon. Main event was held In the afternoon, “awakening” the Dragon deployed on stage by the traditional ceremony of “punctured eye” to open the eyes, leading then to the “Dragon Dance”.

Previously took the word Juan Sarrafian; the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Yin Hengmin; Undersecretary for Human Rights and Cultural Pluralism in Buenos Aires, Claudio Avruj, and vice president of the Chinese organization “Golden Wall” Ana Chen.

Throughout the weekend various artistic and cultural issues, both from China, Argentina and other communities took place, crowning a true 10986845_649838468454953_3757647041700523345_nfestive day that even brief moments of rain could not overshadow.
