Yerevan soccer club Pyunik has secured the 2014-15 championship title in Armenia over the weekend – two rounds before the official finish of the tournament.
Pyunik lost to Banants 1-2 in a Sunday match that did not matter anymore as their closest rivals Ulis and Gyumri’s Shirak lost points in their Day 26 games the previous day.
With 54 points in 25 games (7 points clear of Ulis) Pyunik thus secured their 14th national title.
Earlier this month the Yerevan soccer club also won the Cup.
The last two rounds of the national championship are to be played on May 23-24 and 30.
