New Armenia-EU talks may start this June

New talks between Armenia and EU may start this June, Armenian Deputy FM Garen Nazarian said in the parliament on Wednesday.

Talks on new legal format of relations between Armenia and EU have been underway since last November. The negotiations will start as soon as the mandate is confirmed at the upcoming session of the EU Council.

The new deal is expected to include political dialogue and international security as well as sectoral and trade issues. Efficient public administration, mobility, human rights and economic contacts are on the agenda, the official added.

“We should not look ahead, but Armenia is aspiring to reach new deal and tangible results as soon as possible,” Nazarian said.
